Children attend school from 8.15 to 1.55pm., Monday to Friday. They engage in twelve curriculum subjects, taught through a thematic approach, where lessons across different subjects are linked through a common overarching theme. The three core subjects — English, Irish, and Maths — are taught every day to support continued literacy and numeracy development.
The curriculum becomes more advanced, introducing more complex reading, writing, and maths concepts. pupils also delve deeper into subjects such as Science, History, Geography, Music, and Visual Arts. Teachers foster critical thinking, independent learning, and support the social and emotional development of each child.
Third Class marks a key stage in helping pupils consolidate their academic abilities, preparing them for the more advanced learning that follows in the senior classes.
