Our school garden is a much-loved and valuable space that enhances learning and well-being at Ballinteer Educate Together National School. With the dedicated support of our wonderful Parent/Guardian Committee, along with volunteers and staff members Tamasine and Niamh, the garden continues to thrive and grow. It features a beautiful sensory garden, a variety of herbs, vegetables, and fruits, and even a wormery, giving pupils hands-on experience in sustainable gardening. Four raised beds are used by classes throughout the year, offering children the chance to plant, care for, and harvest their own produce—an experience that’s both fun and educational.
A special highlight this year was our “Every Hand a Daffodil” project—every pupil and staff member planted a daffodil, creating a vibrant and meaningful display that celebrates growth, community, and care for the environment.
We are always happy to welcome new volunteers to support this wonderful project. If you’re interested in getting involved, please contact the school office—we’d love to hear from you!
