Weekly assembly – presentation by Lisa’s 3rd class

This week, Lisa’s class delivered a presentation on our monthly value of Empathy and Understanding. The class had used the app Book Creator in class to develop a comic book, which was presented to the school with narration by several pupils. It was highly enjoyable and thought-provoking. You can view the comic at this link.

PTA EGM

This week, our Parent Teacher Association held an EGM. The PTA voted to ratify the new constitution and to elect a new committee: Eline Apprederisse, Helen Daly, Stella d’Atri, Joel Franklin, Lisa Keogh Finnegan and Anna Savelyeva. The two parent nominees to the Board of Management, Elizabeth Morrin and Oisín O’Connor, are also ex officio members of the Committee. I would like to wish the new committee every success in their work in support of the school.

New Principal

Our new principal, Ruth Brennan, will start her role in Ballinteer ETNS on Monday, 11th March. The school’s Deputy Principal, Órla McCarthy, will be Acting Principal from 1st February until Ruth’s start date. Ruth visited the school yesterday and had an opportunity to meet many of the pupils and staff members. She is really looking forward to starting in her new role.

New additions to the Board of Management

We have two new additions to the board in the past week: Elizabeth Morrin is joining as a parent nominee and Medb McKevitt is joining the board as a community nominee. Medb is a post-primary teacher working in Stepaside ETSS. We welcome them both to our board.
